About Me
Hi! I'm Laura, an experienced English tutor with a passion for helping students achieve their dream grades. I hold a 2:1 BA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Warwick (2020) and have over six years of tutoring experience.
I work with students from Year 7 to Year 13 and also tutor for 11+ and 13+ common entrance, with a 100% success rate so far. I tutor full-time, have published revision guides for Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, and Jekyll and Hyde, and share GCSE tips on TikTok at @smashgcseenglish.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading classic and contemporary texts and poetry, volunteer at my local Girlguiding unit, and I’m currently working on my next revision guide.
Teaching Style
My approach is to create an engaging, encouraging environment where students can focus and learn effectively. Every session is tailored to the individual, whether we’re analysing a text, refining exam technique, or building a well-crafted essay.
I keep sessions relatively informal and discussion-led, rather than using rigid presentation-style lessons. This helps students develop their own ideas and interpretations, build confidence, and approach exams with strong analytical skills that impress examiners.
